Leprosy Mission New Zealand Celebrates Productive Meetings with PNG Prime Minister.
On March 27, 2025, Gillian, Executive Director of Leprosy Mission New Zealand (LMNZ), and Jasleen Kler, LMNZ's International Programmes Manager, had the privilege of meeting with the Hon. James Marape, the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea (PNG), during his official state visit to New Zealand.
The meeting proved to be an enriching and productive occasion, where they celebrated the progress LMNZ has made in supporting PNG communities, particularly in the fight against leprosy. Discussions also centred on exploring future collaborative opportunities, aiming to strengthen the ongoing work and enhance the impact of LMNZ’s programmes in PNG.
This event was part of a larger series of meetings facilitated by the Council for International Development (CID), which brought together various members working on development projects in Papua New Guinea. Held at the Papua New Guinea High Commission in Wellington, the session provided a platform to share updates on current initiatives and discuss potential collaborations for further development in the region.
The meeting reinforced the importance of international partnerships and highlighted the shared commitment to supporting sustainable development in PNG.
