Many people choose to donate their tax rebate to the Leprosy Mission as it is an easy way to give a little bit extra to people affected by leprosy around the world.
Individual Tax Refunds
You can claim any donation you make within four years. The four-year period starts on April 1 of the year after you make the donation.
You need to have donated $5 or more from earned taxable income while residing in New Zealand at any time in that tax year and be an individual.
Company Tax Refunds
Businesses can claim a tax deduction on donated amounts limited to the amount that would be the company's net income before considering the donation deduction.
