Prayer Support

The founder of the Leprosy Mission, Wellesley Bailey, spoke of the organisation as being 'born and cradled in prayer'. We believe this statement still holds true.

As a Christian organisation, the Leprosy Mission is motivated by Jesus Christ. We are committed to sharing the same compassion for people who suffer as Jesus did, recognising that every person is created in the image of God.

The founder of the Leprosy Mission, Wellesley Bailey, spoke of the organisation as being "...born and cradled in prayer." We believe this statement still holds true. We firmly believe God hears and answers our prayers, and we are thankful to see the powerful results of those who support us in this way.

Prayer & Praise is produced and available monthly.

The Leprosy Mission Prayer:

Almighty Father, the giver of life and health, look mercifully on those who suffer from leprosy

Stretch out your hand to touch and heal them as Jesus did during his earthly life.

Grant wisdom and insight to those who are seeking the prevention and cure of the disease;

Give skill and sympathy to those who minister to the patients;

Reunite the separated ones with their families and friends;

And inspire your people with the task set before the Leprosy Mission,

That it may never lack either the staff or the means to carry on its healing work,

In accordance with your will, and to the glory of your holy name.

We ask this for the sake of Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord.  Amen

Global Day of Prayer

Join us in prayer on Wednesday 10 May!

Together we will pray for the work of The Leprosy Mission worldwide, with a particular focus on the new Global Strategy, which will drive the work of The Leprosy Mission in the years to come, as we work for a world without leprosy.

We will hear from teams across the world about their vision for the future, as well as the challenges they will face and the innovations they are working on. We will bring all of this before the Lord and wait to hear His calling for our new strategy.

 On the Day of Prayer, we will:

  • Acknowledge God as Jehovah Jirah, as our provider.

  • Bring the prayers and petitions of TLM Members to the wider Global Fellowship.

  • Wait upon God and listened to what He is saying to the Global Fellowship.

  • Be encouraged by hearing what God is doing across the Global Fellowship
