Annual Reports

Every year we produce an Annual Report that outlines our achievements, how your donations have been spent and our plans for the future.

Some of our projects receive funding from the New Zealand Government and are subject to rigorous reporting requirements. We have to prove that our work is having a long term positive impact in the communities where we work, and that government funds are being put to good use.

Private donations from New Zealand supporters are also used to fund these projects, so you can be sure your gift is being used to maximum effect and that our work meets current best practice development standards.

Some of our projects are funded solely by the private donations of our supporters. We employ development experts to manage these projects, and have robust monitoring and evaluation systems in place to track the effectiveness of every dollar spent.

If you would like a printed copy of these reports sent to you, please feel free to contact us.

Income for the year ending 31 December 2012 was $4,471,815. In 2011 we changed our financial year to run from 1 January to 31 December (pursuant to Rule 8 of the Constitution). The previous financial period ran for 18 months from 1 July 2010 to 31st December 2011. A direct comparison with the previous financial year is therefore somewhat difficult. Please note this when viewing the financial report which is presented separately.

Over the past year The Leprosy Mission New Zealand (TLMNZ) has remitted $2,683,645 to projects in the field. The year 2008/09 has been an exciting one. Some TLMNZ projects have concluded successfully, others have been initiated, and we look forward to the positive impact that they will have. Other projects continue on their path of improving the lives of people affected by leprosy. Partnering with people affected by leprosy, we work together towards a world without stigma or discrimination.

Annual Report 2006/2007

This is the transition year as our balance date moves from 30th November to 20th June. Commenting on seven months activities instead of the usual twelve months is a challenge particularly after the 2006 results which included some very larger legacies.

Annual Report 2005/2006

This has been an exciting year with many good and happy moments and some not so good but overall I believe that The Leprosy Mission in New Zealand is stronger than ever and is making a real contribution to the Goal of Eradicating the Causes and Consequences of Leprosy, a goal we share as a member of The Leprosy Mission International.
