Contact Tracing in DR Congo

Trail: 

The "Set My Village Free of Leprosy" project in the remote district around Kole town. 

Method: 

Contact tracing and preventative antibiotics, from mobile clinics that diagnose leprosy and prevent leprosy for close contacts. 

These clinics are known as "Skin Camps" and also treat a range of skin diseases. This is important in itself but also reduces stigma for people seeking help for leprosy. 

This project will: 

• Provide GPS technology for contact tracing 
• Support doctors searching for leprosy patients in vulnerable villages 
• Help researchers to find the perfect dose of medicine to prevent leprosy
