Aneeta was hidden away in the most extreme need in Bangladesh. Blind and deeply disabled by leprosy, her whole world was a small room in a crowded 'basti' - a corrugated-iron shanty, crammed full with families in poverty.
“Both of my hands are disfigured and almost non-functioning. I feel I’m a burden to my family and there is no end to it."
Thankfully, Aneeta was referred to the skilled sanctuary of a leprosy hospital you support. It took nearly five full months, but when Aneeta returned home, her medically complex ulcers were healed and safe from infection.
Even so, her life of disability still makes her weep. “I cannot help myself,” she grieves.
“For everything I need to do in life, I am forced to depend on others. This hurts so badly.”
This is why Aneeta needs your continued support for the self-help group she has joined.
What an extraordinary impact you are having, as funds you have given get loaned out, repaid, then loaned out again, to start small businesses, like tea-shops or sewing.
You can help provide a source of funds to people who would be turned away by every bank.
It is amazing that 99% of loans are repaid, to be loaned again. Your gifts are being multiplied and impacting lives for generations to come!
Your donation for leprosy self-help groups will be multiplied over and over again.
