Because of leprosy, Kamal's face is obscured by painful patches and lumps. His eyes are swollen shut, and his airways are so inflamed that he can barely breathe through his nose. His tongue is sore and swollen, a painful reminder of his suffering. 

Kamal's parents struggle to make ends meet. They live in a small, leaky mud hut. Their home was destroyed in the 2015 earthquake, and their current shelter offers little comfort or protection. 

Kamal's symptoms began four months ago, starting with small patches on his face. Following local customs, Kamal's mother first sought help from a traditional healer, who cruelly told her that Kamal was cursed by a snake God! 

Eventually, Kamal arrived at the Leprosy Mission's Anandaban Hospital, where the family learnt the truth: Kamal's illness was not a curse but a treatable disease. 

You can give someone like Kamal the cure they desperately need. You can bring hope and light into the lives of people living with leprosy. 

Just $20 will enable a person affected by leprosy like Kamal to access a month of medicine to cure his leprosy.

$40 will offer 2 months' cure.  $60 will be 3 months... 

Kamal needs to take daily medication for 12 months to be completely cured of leprosy.
